The Boys' Birthday weekend cruise

We decided to take the boys for a birthday meal at the Boathouse in Ely, and the weather looked okay, so we set off on the boats on Saturday morning.  It was the inaugural journey for our new ensign and flagpole, made and given to us by Geoff Parrish.

It was great to be out on the river again, and we even managed to put the hood back to let the sun in, even if the breeze was a bit chilly.

Without any leaves on the trees, and riverside plants not grown high yet, we could see things we'd not noticed before.  There's always something interesting to see

Some artwork on the riverbank just before Ely

Ely was lovely as always, and we had an enjoyable meal on Saturday night.

Sunday morning - lovely weather again.

Then off  home again another enjoyable journey, a lovely weekend spent with friends.  Happy Birthdays, Boys!

Fingers crossed!

Well, we're hoping to nip out on the weekend for the "boys'" (coming up to 56 and 46, acting about 15!) birthday celebrations, but the nice weather keeps coming and going.  We'll see...

Spring is sprung!

Lots of activity at the Club today, which felt great - we may be coming out of the gloom that is winter!  John Innit and Dave were in their kinky gear ...

the "new" £20 cooker seems to work, we just need to finish cleaning it up and install it ...

the engine started first time, the floor's been hoovered, the generator works, and Sam's been on guard duty!

All's well with the world!
